Maria Woltjen Speaking at the University of Chicago Human Rights Conference

On Saturday, October 17th, Young Center Executive Director, Maria Woltjen, is speaking at the University of Chicago Human Rights Conference, Human Trafficking, Labor Migration, and Migration Control. The conference will bring together historians, activists, practitioners and policymakers to discuss trafficking and migration. The Young Center frequently serves children who are victims of labor trafficking, from China, India, Guatemala, Mexico, El Salvador, Honduras. Often these children find themselves bound by contracts requiring them to work for years to pay a debt owed to the traffickers, and the children have no way to opt out.
