Anjela Jenkins is the Supervising Attorney for our New York office. Anjela is a proud Panamanian-American who comes to the Young Center from the South Texas Civil Rights Project, where she managed a one-year-grant-funded program to screen and assist low-income undocumented youth interested in applying for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). Prior to her time in the Rio Grande Valley, Anjela spent several years in Washington, DC, representing survivors of domestic violence in family court and conducting policy/advocacy work at a Latin@-focused reproductive justice organization. Anjela completed her JD and MA in Government at the University of Texas at Austin, where she was a Public Service Scholar and two-semester Human Rights Clinic student. She completed her undergraduate studies at Tulane University.
