Brenda Piñero-Carrasquillo is a Staff Attorney for our South Texas office. Before coming to the Rio Grande Valley, she worked on community development, program evaluation, and mentorship projects for youth at risk in Puerto Rico. She has collaborated with several legal education initiatives and is a member of the Coalition against Domestic Violence in her beloved island. Brenda obtained her Juris Doctor and Bachelor’s Degree in Labor Relations from University of Puerto Rico and was a graduate exchange student at Antwerp University in Belgium and Centro de Estudios Martianos in Cuba. At Law School, she led the Women’s Rights Organization and the Pro Bono Program on Environmental Law and as a Student Attorney she represented agricultural workers and community leaders in matters of land use and economic development. During her undergraduate studies, Brenda managed UPR’s office of AIESEC—for which she also contributed as a committee member in São Paulo, Brazil. She is an enthusiastic runner and enjoys dancing salsa.
