Lauren Fisher Flores is the Supervising Attorney for our Houston office. Lauren comes to the Young Center from Kids in Need of Defense, where she represented immigrant children in Houston-area immigration, family, and juvenile courts. Lauren began working with Central American children in 2005, when she moved to Honduras to teach 2nd grade. Lauren’s work with children continued on the Texas-Mexico border representing detained immigrant children as a BIA Accredited Representative for the ProBAR Children’s Project. Lauren’s advocacy focused on complex cases of young victims of trauma. In 2014, Lauren was recognized by Texas Access to Justice and the Texas Supreme Court for her pro bono work. Lauren received a B.A. from Hamilton College, M.Ed. in Early Childhood Studies from the University of Texas at Brownsville, and JD from the University of Houston Law Center.
