Rachel Wootten is the Volunteer Coordinator for our Houston office. Prior to joining the Young Center, Rachel was the sole Volunteer Coordinator for the Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs, an agency organized under the Department of State in Delaware. She also has served as a Community Development Officer for one year in Buea, Cameroon for United Action for Children. During her service with that organization Rachel coordinated and participated in their “School-on-Wheels” program, which provides educational services to children in remote villages who are unable to attend school. Upon her return to the States, she worked for a multicultural community center in Milford, Delaware in their resource center providing after-school tutoring and support to at-risk immigrant youth. Rachel is a graduate of the University of Delaware and holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science.
