There is no denying that 2020 has been a difficult year. Despite the immense challenges we've faced and the ones ahead of us, at the Young Center, we're making space and time to celebrate the wins we had this year.

• On Wednesday, November 18, a federal district judge issued an order that prohibits DHS from turning away unaccompanied immigrant children at the border under the pretext of COVID-19. For the first time since March, unaccompanied children can now come into the country and seek reunification with family and legal protection. Your voice made the difference in ending this unlawful policy. Learn more.

• As of Monday, December 7, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) has been fully restored. We owe this victory, one that will impact the lives of more than 700,000 Americans, to the courageous young people who told their stories and fought for every DACA-recipient around the country. • Last week, after months of advocacy by human rights organizations, the government extended Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for people from six countries for another nine months. The decision impacts more than 300,000 people seeking protection from turmoil and insecurity in the United States. Read more.

• Last but not least, you provided Young Center attorneys, social workers, case support specialists, volunteer coordinators and volunteer Child Advocates to fight for the rights and best interests of hundreds of children. Click here to read four stories of children we served this year.
