About the Young Center:
Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights is a human rights organization that protects and advances the rights and best interests of immigrant children. Young Center attorneys and social workers, along with bilingual volunteers, are appointed as Child Advocate (guardian ad litem) to ensure that separated and unaccompanied children facing the U.S. immigration system are treated as children first. Young Center's volunteer Child Advocates meet with children in federal custody every week to make sure they are not alone, their stories are heard, and their safety and well-being is prioritized in immigration proceedings. Our goal is to change both immigration policy and practice so that immigrant children are treated with dignity.
