Families Belong Together: The Young Center's Recent Work with Separated Children

Family separation cases have dominated the news all summer, but what’s the real story about the current state of affairs? Why are so many children still separated? On September 14th, 2018, two Young Center Child Advocates presented a lively discussion our work on these cases in New York, Arizona, and across the country. The webinar included time for Q&A, and a discussion of other steps supporters can take to keep immigrant families together.

Watch the webinar to see Young Center Staff Attorneys Priscilla Monico Marín and Vanessa Pineda of our Child and Family Rights Project discussed the latest developments in family reunification and specific challenges for the very youngest children, children with special needs, and children whose parents were already deported. Policy director Jennifer Nagda wrapped up by discussing the Young Center’s next steps in challenging federal policy, and what you can do.
